I am very surprised by the topic of culture; I never thought that living in a small town could affect me so immensely. I understand how family influences my life because I learn from my parents, but culture isn't something I think I'm always present for, even though it's immersed in my daily life without me knowing. My individual agency plays a role in the social constructions I choose. In my family I listen to my parents but also my individual agency has forced me to rebel against them and be myself at times. Even though I am a quiet person and this reflects my culture, when I get to know people I open up and act like myself. Although I like small groups and being close to people, I also like meeting new people and I think if I grew up in a city, I would like to live there too. I like going to the city and shopping and I don't like the fact that there is nothing to do in the small town where I live. I will continue to think deeply and relate my actions to the social construction I have come to understand through this analysis. Since I am average and my social position in society is normal, I will continue to respect other social positions. I will also influence others to grow and create themselves as they want without relying on others. I am involved in Big Brother and Big Sister and am excited to help mediate children
