People might say things like "I'm happy to see you're back to normal." Or they might say, “You need to find closure so you can get back to normal.” What is normal? You feel pain because of the loss. Unless what has been lost is restored, things will be different than they were before the loss. You will reach the point where you have a “new normal,” but it will no longer be the same as what normal looked like before. King David, the author of many Psalms, was not raised in a royal family. His family wasn't even considered rich or wealthy by today's standards. He was the son of a shepherd. His brothers were all shepherds and, in all likelihood, he would have his own flock of sheep when he matured, married and started a family of his own. Of course we know the rest of the story and how God had other, much bigger plans for his life. As a young man, David did his own household chores, watching over his father's flock of sheep. King Saul had asked every available man of fighting age to come and assist in the imminent battle that would inevitably follow. King Saul had led his troops into battle against the Philistines, a tribe of terrorists who often raided and attacked the Israelites. David's older brothers had all gone to fight in response to the king's call to fight older men. David's father Jesse ordered David to bring a load of cheese and other foodstuffs to his brothers and the army commander. Jesse also wanted him to see how his brothers were doing and how the battle was going. He was worried about his other children. When David got to where his brothers were, they scolded him for abandoning the flock and accused him of only wanting to see the struggle to sit...... middle of paper...... Father, I know I am a sinner and I can't do anything to change the situation on my own. I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross and was resurrected three days later for me. Please forgive me all my sins and become my savior. I accept your free gift of salvation. Thank you Father God. In the name of Jesus I pray these things, amen”. If you prayed this prayer and meant it, you are now a Christian. It is important that you get involved in a Bible-believing Christian church where you can learn more and grow in your new life. You need the support of other believers and they will help you learn and grow in your new faith. Read the Bible and spend time in prayer regularly. This will not only help you in your new Christian walk, you will find that it will help you overcome your pain and feel the support of God you are looking for.
