For as long as I can remember being here. Along with the others obviously. No one outside of the demented scientists running this hellhole knows about us, and unless things changed soon, it didn't look like it would. We were all monsters here and part of me wanted to be normal. Part of me didn't want to be given daily tests that were so physically and psychologically demanding that at the end of the day it was exhausting to even roll around on the hard steel plate with a sheet they called a "bed." But fatigue wasn't the only thing. There were others here, and even more outside this building in other areas of the world. All of this has been managed by Zotil, the multi-billion dollar company that hides in the shadows, dabbling in this and that so that it cannot be put into any specific category as a business. They had an important, if more subterranean, goal, and that was severe genetic testing of which I, Louis Harris, was a part. I had taken part in the "magnet operation", or the human magnet experiment. There were three others in this experiment but they had all fallen, either from overwork, or from death caused by the excitation of the radioactive atoms within us. The other experiments had gone much the same way, with only five specimens still alive. There were six, until about four days ago. Jonathan, who had been special, had been overworked by the scientists. They were absolutely intrigued that he had begun to develop a second power. Not only did he have the physical characteristics of a bird, with wings and semi-hollow bones and all, but he also began to rapidly increase his mental abilities to the point that he was only likely to discover the exa...... half of paper...and then fastened I heard many frantic screams as they all ran out of the room. Once I knew they were all free, I turned into a ball, as small as I could make myself, and vehemently pulled the walls towards me. There had to be at least six inches of steel now separating me from the outside world and I knew I would have at least a few hours to myself since they wouldn't be able to get through anytime soon. As I felt the blood rush out of my nose and past my lips I knew I had come close to pushing myself too far, this thing was like a muscle and if pushed too far my whole body breaks down. I can hear their voices, intrigued and frustrated by what just happened. they have never seen this level of power from me before, and from the tone of their voice they seem scared, even though muffled by the metal they have a great deal of fear in every word they say.
