I will make a conscious effort to continually be aware of my thoughts and interactions and to ensure that I stay current with my knowledge and skills related to cultural competence. The facility where I work requires a mandatory and very useful annual cultural competence course. Additionally, due to the nature of the environment and the fact that our facility is one of the best places in the nation for people to go for healthcare, there are numerous opportunities for me to interact with international people on a daily basis, which It keeps me on my toes. I will also make the most of this course, homework and textbook and strive to do well so that I gain greater insight and understanding that will help me in my daily nursing practice.
