The World Bank builds roads, power plants, schools, dams, bridges, ports and other "infrastructure" projects as governments do to finance long-term loans. Countries that have “structural adjustment programs” (SAPs) have accepted that the World Bank will only extend loans. SAPs democratic debtor countries by people who do not make decisions. The former colonial world is forced down the throats of the people. To repay the debt, the World Bank requires public assets and government companies (privatization), healthcare, education, child care and cuts in spending on social services such as pensions by selling off government funds.
