“Aside from the dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside a dog it's too dark to read." -Groucho Marx. (“Animal Quotes”). I have had the pleasure of working at a veterinary clinic for two years now. There are so many things to learn and intense experiences to have. Animals are amazing creatures and I always want to help them. They are not humans and cannot very well tell us what they need or want. Even though animals and people have their differences, we are all similar in some ways are absolutely necessary for both species, skin tears must be stitched and mothers need help to deliver babies. Cesarean section is a surgical procedure in which the abdomen and uterus are opened to deliver the babies (“Cesarean section”). There are various reasons for having a cesarean section: it comes down to the position or size of the fetus along with the size or shape of the pelvis. You can learn all these things from ultrasounds. C-sections should only be used in emergency situations for humans, dogs and cats are usually scheduled if they want assistance in giving birth ("caesarean section"). Birth creates a lot of stress on the bodies of animals and humans. Any sign of discomfort on the fetus is a major cause of an emergency cesarean section ("necessary cesarean"). Sometimes people choose to schedule animal C-sections. Humans use it only in emergency situations. To have the best chance of a puppy's survival you must wait for the perfect moment. It is best to wait until the dog's temperature drops to 99 degrees or until labor begins ("C-sections necessary"). The best way to tell if a dog is going into labor is by temperature. When the temperature drops below 100 degrees the dog will give birth within 24 hours. Each puppy has its own water bag; must be broken by the puppy crossing head first. During the year
