I come from a very strict Pentecostal family where we are obligated to respect our elders, refer to adults as sir or madam, and honor our parents by doing that which they say without asking questions. The reason I say it has decreased is because this new generation has lost moral respect and is behaving negatively. More and more single mothers, young women and unmarried men are seen disobeying and disrespecting their parents and ultimately having no ambition or goal to achieve further.
