Ivey; Ninth grade speech teacher, Mrs. Boone; and my 11th and 12th grade English teacher and mentor, Mrs. Barbosa. It's impossible for me to pick a favorite because each one has helped me in more ways than one in my time of need. I had two big fears entering high school: 1) I wouldn't be able to handle work, and 2) I would have a hard time coming out of my shell. Three years later my sixth grade teachers still help me. Over the years, Mrs. Ivey took time out of her day to make sure I was ready for any challenge I faced. It taught me how to be a better student and will continue to stick with me after I graduate. Mrs. Boone helped me overcome my second fear of coming out of my shell. His class was based on talking to strangers, so I had to quickly swallow the butterflies and open my mouth. Mrs. Boone not only taught me that I can determine my own future, but she also taught me that it's okay to be myself. Describing everything Ms. Barbosa did to help me would far exceed my eight hundred word limit. Not only did she add to Mrs. Ivey's teachings on how to be a successful student, but she was also a role model for what I hope to have in the future. He has accomplished so much while being humble and helpful to anyone who needs help. He has given me countless hours of his patience, time and help to support me in mine
