Topic > The Importance of the Perception Process - 1732

Negotiation is "Much sense-making occurs between people as they influence each other's perceptions and try to reach a shared perspective." (Adler and Proctor 85 ). Negotiation usually begins when two people try to exchange stories. People often believe that their reason is the best and that the other person must agree that theirs is the right answer, which can lead to heated arguments. A common example of negotiation is an argument between siblings, for example, two twins argue with each other, the mother asks both of them what happened, and both boys describe how the other is responsible for starting the relationship.
