These are the extremist minorities who take part in the war on terrorism and who introduce irrational rules such as sharia law. Although they may say they do so in the name of God, most people who have "faith" believe that the extreme acts of terrorists are contrary to every moral and religious belief they share. Alex Berezow (2013) highlights the fact that “Yes, evil things have been done in the name of religion. But...the vast majority of wars since 1648...have been about power, land grabs, and regime change, not religion." Just because something appears to be the cause of war, often doesn't mean that is the real cause. Furthermore, Ruse highlights the problem that a “sudden enthusiasm for atheism” (814) is creating in that people simply seem to be getting tired of the backward views that religions like Christianity continue to produce “…We are tired of the preachers telling us that they hate homosexuals and that they consider abortion to be a form of murder… The opponents of religion are like a nice drop of cold water, a breath of fresh air, after the cloying and tepid humidity of the crew of “ moral values”. (814) Once again, the beliefs that are produced are very extreme views, which do not necessarily reflect all of them
