There are many differences between these scientific terms, intersexuality, transgender and gender variations. When Achilles is called intersex it means that this child is born with a sexual anatomy, reproductive organs and/or even chromosomal patterns that do not fit the typical male or female. According to an article on times.com "intersex is a term that refers to someone whose anatomy or genetics at birth - the X and Y chromosomes which are usually XX for women and XY for men, do not match the typical expectations of neither sex." (Katytainmetz, times.com.) in gender variations is a case where an individual's gender expression and behavior do not match male and female gender norms. Transgender is very similar to gender variations, which refers to a person whose personal identity does not unambiguously conform to the conventional nation of male or female.
