The amount of people who find the stereotype of “poverty” and think they can change what a normal family is and make urbanization poor is absurd. People think that because they work poorly, they deserve value. People like Tony and Claude, the parental figures of the white “Two American Families” family, have to work harder to gain social control and stability. According to “The State of America's Middle Class” there are many factors in today's society that influence poverty and how the average citizen lives. The article states that wages are declining, especially compared to steadily rising income in previous decades. This graph-filled article also shows that more money is going to the top 20% of our society and that middle-class men are seeing a steady decrease in income over the years. But once again, part-time work is skyrocketing. All of these facts are found in "The State of America's Middle Class" (Frontline Charts, 2013). According to these same charts, middle class debt is at an all-time high and the amount of money people are saving is at an all-time low. The amount of stigma these people are going through is outrageous and unnecessary. We should listen to Gans' ideals and make dirty work more paid and have a dominant middle class where more people are happy and can support their needs.
