Batman Returns is a film released on June 19, 1992. It shows that Batman's return was in an attempt to save the city of Gotham which was under attack by a gang of penguins and many other unknown villains. Batman is the only one who could save Gotham from the Penguins' plot to take over Gotham and the cat woman who had her mission. According to Batman, the penguin caused the disappearance of several children in the city. He was also suspicious of the Penguin who had arranged the kidnapping of the mayor's son and later rescued him in an attempt to be seen as a hero by the community. There were several reasons behind Bruce Wayne's retirement; he had had a terrible time in his life. Firstly he was getting older which had caused him to lose some of his abilities and powers such as speed and good eyesight, secondly Wayne had witnessed the death of his parents and had vowed to fight crime at all costs in his city at an early age. he traveled the world learning how much evil hides in people's hearts. He met some heroic villains like the joker. Bruce had his back broken by Bane (Siegel, Shuster, Kane, Hamilton & Swan, 2007). Bruce witnessed his city collapse due to an earthquake. Other reasons include; Wayne had no idea he was having a child; he was tired of fighting and the shocking Batman Rest in Peace story that didn't clearly state whether it would mean his death. Batman's return impacted Gotham City in many ways; first he saved the city from a gang of penguins. The penguins were running around the city causing chaos and kidnapping children. The Penguin plots to kidnap the mayor's son, who he then rescues to be seen as a public hero. He had several children disappear... half the paper... it's a mission. Bruce Wayne, although he said he had many girlfriends in the past, upon his return began a romantic relationship with a lady named Selina. Despite the many challenges Wayne faces, he doesn't give up, he continues to fight for his city Gotham and fight the bad guys. He had a terrible life losing his parents and almost losing his life, but he came back to save his small town. Embracing such heroic acts is not in itself an act of courage, love and selflessness; as a result the film was nominated and won numerous awards. Works Cited DC Comics, Inc., Warner Bros.
