Daisy HorneMs. SoppeEnglish 10118 November 2013Abortion should be illegalIn 2008, approximately 1.21 million abortions took place in the United States. This shows that many people have become desensitized by taking lives. Furthermore, moral values have changed dramatically in the last decade. People have also lost their sense of responsibility. Irresponsibility has led from small actions to large ones, such as having an abortion. Every day women choose to throw away their child. Christians believe that abortion is synonymous with taking a life. Every life is special. Each life contributes to the bigger picture, but people have given numerous “excuses” to explain their actions. If a person goes straight to prison for killing someone, it should be no different for a mother who aborts her child. God does not give special rights to pregnant women to make abortion acceptable. Abortion is unacceptable, cruel, and an unethical practice that should be illegal. Many people aren't even aware of what an abortion really is. An abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy. There are two types of abortion, medical abortion and surgical abortion. A medical abortion involves taking the drug mifepristone; often called the abortion pill. A woman seeking a medical abortion can obtain one through doctors or through a doctor's office. No matter how an abortion procedure is performed, it is still wrong and cruel (Lowen 1). It is personally known that some international ministries have built orphanages due to the lack of children to adopt. An international ministry recently rescued 8 boys from slavery in Ghana, Africa. Ministries, organizations and companies globally are looking for ways to promote healthy living for young children. Me too... half of the paper... from "What Does the Bible Say About Abortion?"
