Some people see fast food as the cause of obesity, while others see obesity as the cause of an individual's choice to eat unhealthy food, given their full responsibility for your own dietary choices. Fast food is seen as one of the cheaper ways to eat compared to buying healthy food at the local supermarket. Obesity rates have been increasing in recent years. Obesity affects everyone, from children to adults. An individual has responsibility for their own dietary choices, but perhaps cannot afford the high prices of healthier foods, so they must turn to fast food as a cheaper and unhealthy way of eating. In my opinion, fast food is responsible for the increase in obesity due to low prices, their location, especially in low-income neighborhoods, and poor advertising. Fast food chains attract thousands of consumers per day and continue to serve unhealthy food that is bad for the body. Frequent consumption of fast food can lead to serious health problems for the body. Obesity is associated with high blood sugar levels or diabetes, heart problems, hypertension, stroke and disease (Rodrigo). Fast food contains high sugar, salt and many calories per meal, which are the causes of these various health problems and obesity. Most of the time people eat more calories per day than they burn. If you look at the total calories of McDonalds Big Mac Combo, you would see that it contains 920 calories, and on average, a person should only eat about 1800 calories per day (Mcdonalds.com). If a person ate an average of two fast food meals a day, they would exceed their total allowable calorie intake. Obesity not only causes health problems but can also cause physical problems. restaurant and you prefer to eat it and then try something new like healthy food. People cannot control the location or number of fast food companies and are now realizing that fast food is making people obese (Lusk and Ellison). Obesity is a growing problem and more and more people are starting to think of themselves as one of those obese Americans. . Obesity is associated with many health problems, both physical and mental. To address these problems, some people eat more because they are depressed. Fast food restaurants are found almost everywhere, leaving very few options for healthy restaurants. Even though fast food restaurants offer healthy food products, they are still very expensive and families cannot afford it. Everyone has the right to express their opinion on who is responsible for obesity, but; I know fast food is everywhere
