Men feel pressure to fit into the category of what society describes as a man. They have the responsibility to be first in everything. Showing emotions should not be a part of men's lives. Men need to focus on their role to be the stronger sex. Crying is a weakness and is only meant for women. The other day I heard my daughter's grandmother ask her grandson why he was crying, she told him that he shouldn't cry about everything because that's only for girls and that he needed to learn that boys don't cry. This action really pissed me off, how dare he tell the little boy who is only 8 years old, that he shouldn't show how he feels because he is a boy. This is how society drilled into our minds from a young age how we should act. I couldn't agree more with Carlos Andres Gomez who states in his essay Confronting the Superhero Myth, "we need men who strive to grow, to learn, to ask questions and risk making mistakes, to be humble and better today than they were Yesterday". . Indeed, we need men who are equal to women and who do not feel inferior because of it, and this also includes the way they feel. There is nothing wrong with crying or showing your emotions. Being able to express yourself just shows how strong you are
