The following study will examine and provide research methods, findings, and conclusions about college students consuming caffeine energy drinks, alcohol, or both to get a boost of energy for one reason or another. Coffee, which used to be the go-to for boosting energy and staying up late at night to complete homework or study, declined in the 20th century. The study will also highlight the effects of energy drinks and alcohol and the harms and health problems that contribute to student behaviors when consumed. The first study looks at energy drinks and alcohol among college students and whether more students are consuming the product. The study is a web-based questionnaire. The article, “Caffeinated Cocktails: Energy Drink Consumption, High-Risk Alcohol Drinking, and Alcohol-Related Consequences Among College Students,” paints a good picture of behaviors followed by energy drink and alcohol consumption such as; excessive consumption, increased alcohol-related consequences, sexual exploitation, traveling with drunk drivers, injury or physical injury, and those requiring medical attention. The second article “An Investigation of Energy Drink Consumption Patterns Among College Students” used a 32-person field research focus group to determine the amount of college students drinking energy drinks, including the benefits and health problems . Red Bull, Amp, Monster, Rock Star, Rip It, Full Throttle and Cocaine energy drinks, to name a few, were created to give individuals a "jolt" of energy with a combination of stimulants or "energy enhancers" that include caffeine. The article “Caffeinated Cocktails: Energy Drink Consumption, High-Risk Alcohol Drinking, and Alcohol-Related Consequences Among Colle......middle of paper......gy drinks are consumed in a mother and the effects of the product when alcohol is added. (Creswell, J.W., 2013). Research hypothesis using an if-then statement. Hypothesis: If energy drinks are supposed to increase energy, how often do college students consume energy drinks in a month? Furthermore, if energy drinks are used with alcohol, what are the effects, behavioral risks and accidents that can occur? (Creswell, J.W., 2013). The research hypothesis is to test what is most effective/safe when college students consume energy drinks and alcohol. The hypothesis statement describes the expected relationship between the independent and dependent variables in this research. In this case the relationships are positive or negative as the relationship increases or decreases. The hypothesis is not clear, but it should or could be. (Creswell, JW., 2013).
