Glorified overeating. Two words that together create the definitive oxymoron, in a society obsessed with body image. Adam Richman, the host of the popular television show Man v. Food, shows its viewers the sport of eating. In each episode this attractive and far from obese man eats a humanly impossible amount of food. The feat quickly turns into a spectacle, with fans singing and opponents salted and fried. The spectacle of overeating has been transformed into a sport celebrated by the media.
