Hotels need to make sure they follow the rules for the specific location of their property. If a hotel company is based in the United States, but has a property in Asia, then the company must follow the rules of Asia and not those of the United States. If an Asian person were to walk into an American-run property (in Asia) and see laws being broken, they would be terrified. Therefore, guests expect that the laws of the specific country in which the hotel is located are always respected. Four Seasons does this exceptionally well and an example of this is their work in France. France has several laws relating to employment and the treatment of employees. One of these rules requires workers to spend a certain number of hours working near a window so they can be exposed to sunlight. Even though this rule doesn't exist in the United States, the Four Seasons follows it because it affects their property
