The main thing I found that helped me was always getting important paperwork done with my parents nearby. They were the only ones who had access to most of the information I needed and had to accompany my signature on multiple occasions. While it can be very frustrating overall, it was helpful to have my parents there to ask any questions I had. The social issue of children under eighteen was approached slightly differently. I became very aware of the people I was hanging out with and making sure they were good role models and often looked for friends closer to my age. Being a minor is still a challenge but it is a challenge that I have learned to embrace and will overcome in a few days. The more I think about it, being seventeen for my first semester was a blessing because it kept many temptations away and allowed me to easily get out of unfortunate situations.
