The goals I have planned for my future will require dedication, new knowledge and skills. These are the requirements that I will have to constantly work towards if I want to be able to provide for my future family, assist my parents and grandparents financially, and live a good life. I want to be able to have the skills necessary to make myself useful in our society. My primary goal is to be able to take care of my loved ones. However, to achieve this goal, I need to complete my secondary goal which would be to become an accountant. One course I took in high school to prepare for this career is Business and Information Management 1. This course taught me the basics of all Microsoft Office programs as well as basic business skills and etiquette. I'm also taking a college-level economics course, which to me is one of the most interesting and useful courses I've ever taken because it focuses on the choices people make. However, these courses alone are not enough to achieve my goals in life. I want to attend college and gain new knowledge on how to pursue the profession of my choice. I realize that maintaining a good grade point average in college is not an easy task, however I feel that I am quite prepared for the challenge. This confidence comes from the courses I took while in high school, as the vast majority of them were Pre-AP, AP, and dual credit classes. These courses gave me experience with college assignments along with the classroom atmosphere of a higher education institution. At university, once I have obtained my three-year degree, I will continue my studies to also obtain a master's degree. I want to keep learning to stay on top. I think it's necessary to engage with local events and be able to network with other people, because it's an essential part of starting your career. Through the national organizations I am a part of, such as NHS, NTHS, SkillsUSA, and People to People, I will be able to get my name out there more than I could have done locally with the Student Council or the Interact Club. With my current academics and future, along with my association with organizations, I will achieve my goals. I plan to use my skills and knowledge to find a career so that I can provide for the wants and needs of my family as well as myself. I am indebted to my parents for all the years they spent raising me. I need to be able to support them, just as they supported me and I intend to do so.
