This silent treatment introduced Korean, Thai, Chinese, and Japanese TV shows that I still really enjoy; however, I was more interested in Chinese TV shows because of the simple and meaningful moral lesson. From the Chinese television series, The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber, Zhang Wuji's life has been a roller coaster as he went from middle class to a beggar to a highly loyal and respected man. Wuji's color of life went from neutral to a rainbow colored with confusion, love and life: a beautiful drum beating against his ears. The moral lesson is to forgive and forget to seek peace in life. This series has helped me understand that being greedy and selfish about what I want will not bring long-term happiness. My thirst for shoplifting has slowly quenched and I am gradually gaining happiness. I feel like the whole world has opened up bigger towards a safe path. Now, every time I go shopping, I gradually collect the items in the cart to satisfy me as if I had actually purchased the product. Even today I use this strategy to control my appetite for unnecessary purchases
