General Psychiatry released a sample of 10,123 adolescents aged 13 to 18, the adolescents were asked about their experiences with drugs and alcohol. In surveys, Michelle Castillo reports that “78% of U.S. teens have drank alcohol, and 47% of the group said they had 12 or more drinks in the past year. Regarding drug use, 81% of adolescents said they had had the opportunity to use illicit substances, while 42.5% had actually tried them.” According to that information, 15% of them met the standards for lifetime alcohol abuse, and 16% could be considered drug abusers.Part 2: Early puberty linked to increased odds of substance use in adolescentsHealthDay October 9, 2012When adolescents go through puberty at an earlier age than normal, they are more likely to experiment with alcohol or drugs. Boys aged 11 to 17 were interviewed and asked about their substance use in the past 3 months and also determined when they started puberty. In the article Cance states: "While puberty is often considered a solely biological process, our research has shown that pubertal development is a combination of biological, psychological, and social processes that likely interact to influence risky behaviors such as the use of substances." Although they found that puberty influenced substance use, they did not find the cause. Part 3: Identify the differences between the two media's representation of the same event. In the two different ar... .. center of paper.. ....nt?People did not overreact to the event; Teenage drug abuse is not something that should be taken lightly. It's very dangerous and very serious. Nothing will ever completely solve the problem as long as drugs and alcohol exist, but people should never stop working to solve it.
