Models working in the fashion industry certainly do not accurately represent the women and men they model for (Amed, 2013). While this distortion in the fashion industry persists; the examples for modeling the way you do business within teams and as leaders must be precise. Leaders who see themselves as mentors to teams learn to voice and demonstrate an organization's vision and goals and then put those plans into action. Within this article there is an example of one of my corporate and team leadership experiences in which my skills learned in the field are highlighted. There will also be a discussion on how courageous leaders shape the path; and the steps necessary to build a winning team will be incorporated to define the parameters of successful leadership and team interactions. Network Systems Design In addition to attending NCU for doctoral studies, I also work part-time for two Internet information systems technology companies. I am an on-call IT specialist who assists businesses in my area with computer network system projects. Recently, while working on an IT project at a bank, one of the technicians on the project team began openly speaking profanity about the project. Because I intrinsically understand that trust comes from open and honest communication (Cannon, 2009); I quietly but quickly took the technician aside and informed her that this was not appropriate workplace language. I also communicated to the entire team that as I led the IT project, maintaining trust and transparency (Treasurer, 2009) with team members while being accountable in the workplace is of paramount importance.
