As I reflect and look at my career path, I realize that I have not had a real career path. I've done a few jobs; however, I have not yet had a job that I would consider my career. Also, I only worked for a couple of months at each of the jobs I held in the past. I currently don't have a job yet and I realize that I am now 24 and should start my career. However, I haven't looked into jobs in my career field because I feel like I'm not ready to start working in my field yet. I was only seventeen when I started working. I lived in a very small town, in a center full of different shops. During the summer, most of the shops in the center published job advertisements looking for young people who wanted to work during the summer season. I decided that I wanted to gain work experience and decided to apply in one of the shops. The store I worked at was called Kid City; it was a children's clothing store. I liked the job I had at the beginning; all I did was open the boxes and place the clothes on the shelves so the store clerks could hang them on the store shelves. I liked the job because I didn't have to deal with customers coming into the store. However, I was then moved to the front of the store for the intellectual stimulation to allow me to think and stand without ever getting bored at work. Additionally, the security and financial rewards will make me feel like I have a secure job with compensation for my workplace duties. Structure, recognition and convenience are important but not equally important. These are values I look for in my career but they will not influence my decision if they are not provided in the workplace. However, adventure and interpersonal contact are the least important value
