A very special man in my life once said to me: "Enjoy your years of life while you can, do it in a healthy way." What he meant by this statement was go ahead and have fun, but do it in a way that pleases God and my parents. Don't go out partying with the wrong people and don't make a fool of me. He always told me that our society predisposes us young people to failure in life. My father has always been a great mentor in my life, I have always been able to look up to him and know that I can follow in his footsteps. My father managed to have fun throughout his childhood and adolescence, but he always did it the right way. Road cycling may have accounted for much of the time my father spent outdoors. Climbing into the back of a machine that could shred the track like no other, he had enjoyed riding on the track with his brothers. All the brothers knew how to ride a dirt bike, some better than others, so there were plenty of people to ride with for double the fun. He had mentioned how his sister Michelle could ride very well. He talked about her jumping all the time, doing wheelies: “Yeah, you Aunt Michelle, well, she could ride really well.” My father grew up in a family with four other siblings. He was the eldest of five children. After my dad there was my uncle Jeremy, along with my aunt Michelle, then there is my aunt Tonya and finally my uncle Cameron. Just like any other family, Dad got along better with some siblings than others. He had always hung out with Michelle and Jeremy. My uncle Jeremy and my dad always played outside together, they liked the same things and were pretty close in age. The other sibling my dad was closest to was my aunt Michelle, because she was......halfway......fe and was happy with what God had given him. My father had shown me something really important in life, you have to enjoy life and never take it for granted. He has been my wise teacher over the years. He always tells me that I must be a man of God and I believe him, because over the years that I grew up, the greatest thing that my father showed in my eyes was to be the man that God wants me to be. I believe that following God throughout his childhood allowed him to enjoy life much more. He had a blast riding the dirt bike with his brothers. Riding a motorbike with my cousins was a great thrill in my father's eyes. Casting a fishing line with bait on the end always brought my father happiness. As well as going to college and meeting the love of his life. “I couldn't have asked for a better life,” my father told me at the end of the interview.
