It allows many users to get used to their distorted online identity. As social media continues to grow today, we as a society are becoming more and more synthetic. Instead of indulging in direct interaction with other people, we as a community prefer online chats and discussion forms. Social media has also given people a false sense of importance. Through photos and posts, users are presented with an unrealistic basis for self-comparison. Constantly comparing ourselves to others has a negative effect on our self-esteem. Once again we move away from the idea of
