Topic > An Overview of Landscape Architecture - 2242

Landscape architecture is a profession that requires the natural environment to appear a certain way. This profession is based on gardening, but landscaping also involves the installation of a wall and other elements. There are many reasons to practice landscaping, from making a place more inviting or making an area more functional. The landscape has existed for thousands of years. The ancient gardens of culture demonstrate this. Landscaping has been used to beautify certain areas such as temples, palaces and public areas. The Romans were more private people and had enclosed courtyards designed for members of their own family to enjoy them. The Maya, on the other hand, had paintings that populated the walkways of the temples. Native American tribes built some garden terraces for the purpose of growing crops. Landscaping is usually in a small area such as a home, office or museum. Landscape designers design the area and study the qualities of the soil and the natural environment. After reviewing all the facts, they begin to design the landscape. When you start designing your landscape, you start creating paths and building from there to create a great environment. To create it all, it can include pools, benches, stone retaining walls and other elements. After all the groundwork you can start adding trees, shrubs and flowers. Sometimes the landscape can be themed. There are some traditional ways to theme your landscape, such as the English garden, native plant garden, or shallow water garden. Landscaping is an art form profession. It takes common sense to appreciate the features of the natural environment that already exist. The excellent landscape flows together with the existing natural environment. Everything flows together instead of ruining the nature that already existed.
