Urbanization and Sustainable DevelopmentTang 1 IrisWe all know that the urbanization rate is an index for evaluating the development of a country. However, although urbanization offers great benefits to some individuals, it also brings negative effects. Problems such as pollution, overcrowding and high unemployment emerge during the urbanization process and are difficult to address. Faced with the sequence of problems, a new way of development was proposed: sustainable development. Just like its literal meaning, the word sustainability has something to do with continuity. It has been used since the 1980s and first appeared in UK legislation in 1993. Sustainable development can help solve some of the problem caused by urbanisation, including environmental damage, overuse of resources and natural disasters. Sustainable development can solve problems of environmental damage, or in other words, pollution. For example, water pollution is serious nowadays. Wastewater was continuously discharged from factories, accompanied by poisonous chemicals. Considering the goal of sustainable development, we can find some ideas to address the problem. First, the sewage system should be improved during development so that drinking water can acquire greater purity. Furthermore, rainwater can be separated from industrial water and domestic water, it should pass through another system so that people can use it more effectively and correctly. The emission of wastewater, which contains organophosphorus pesticides, should also be limited, as it heavily pollutes water and harms not only fish and aquatic animals, but also people who use the polluted water. Air pollution caused by excessive urbanization is among the most serious problems... half of the article... the event is "just a coincidence because several small earthquakes occurred before the big one" (Zhang, 2008) , but it showed that if we can accurately predict dangers, many losses can be avoided. Just like above, sustainable development helps a lot in addressing the problems caused by urbanization. References: 1. Anonymous.
