In the poem, Addonizio refers to the CEO and the details. As stated in the poem, “The CEO has lost touch with the details. I'm worth just as much, but I care; I come here, show my face, I'm a real regular customer. (Addonizio) Addonizio writes in the voice of Lucifer in which he states that God has lost contact with his followers. Also, Lucifer speaks in the voice of a politician when he says he's a real regular customer and comes down to show his face. Similar to a politician running for office, a politician travels to each state to establish a baseline with his or her voters. The politician will go to every state to relate to his voters to get more votes and win elections. Likewise Lucifer should take on the role of God, because Lucifer can relate to people. Lucifer claims to come down to show his face to relate to people. Lucifer claims that people should like him more than God, because he shows his face more than God. He uses the CEO and the details as symbols, because many of his readers can relate. In the business field, the CEO is the big boss and the details are usually the people who work under the CEO. In this poem, the CEO serves as a symbol of God and the details serve as a symbol for his followers.
