Symbolism in Strange News from Another Star It turns out that Strange News from Another Star is a story that contains numerous symbols which in many cases contain some important information abstract. Symbolism is something that is very difficult to explain because not everyone sees the symbol so mentioned. They don't see it quite the same way as you do, because no two minds are the same, which means they don't react the same way to something that has to be interpreted internally because it isn't there as simple information. In this essay I will try to support in concise words why I believe something represents something abstract, as well as with information from the author. One of the first symbols we could find is the star. A star is known as a gaseous sphere, which with nuclear fusion and fission can actually emit enormous amounts of energy. Obviously a star is an inhospitable place, so I believe the star actually represents a planet or country. Flowers, which play a very important part in the plot of the book, are also a symbol. They, as far as I know, have always had a special message. A message of love, tranquility, joy and represent the harmony of nature itself. In the first part of the book we can see how a problem, the earthquake, caused the people in the star to lose a large amount of flowers. They lost some of the tranquility and joy that had invaded their lives. And when they look for a messenger to go looking for flowers, they talk about finding the tranquility and lack of fear they desired. I believe that burials actually represent life. It may seem a little strange, but in real life once you get used to living a happy and joyful life, you won't be able to do without it anymore and therefore you will have to do practically anything, as the star people did, to find the “ flowers". The symbol of the deity that the young man saw in the temple, I understand that from the way the story progresses the symbol actually represents the fact that war, or trouble (the bird of prey) destroys all happiness or good-hearted feelings. I think the representation is the one I was talking about above, because when the messenger "goes" towards the foreign star he sees destruction and total lack of joy.
