Giving uneducated young adults the chance to be hooded, black, tough, wild and drunk all at the same time was a risk they were willing to take. After Monday night's party, unfortunately, the madness wasn't over. On Thursday, a noose was found hanging in plain sight in UCSD's Geisel Library. This was a form of hateful prank by an unknown UCSD student, who still hasn't been caught. This was the last straw for the majority of Black and Brown students at UCSD. Depending on which students you ask, they would say justice was not served. According to Julianne Hing, “Students are angry because, even as university administrators like Chancellor Mary Anne Fox were quick to respond in support of Black students on campus, they also distanced themselves from the Compton Cookout incident. Campus administration initially stated that because the Compton Cookout was officially an off-campus event, no further action would be taken against the offenders.” Some students believe the administration reacted quickly when they learned of the actions, but has not yet come to their defense. No serious action was taken after the incident because no one was suspended. The brothers hosting the party have been brought in for questioning, but they all deny it
