Many events led to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. One of the main causes of the attack was that many Islamic nations did not agree to support and l 'US interest in the founding of Israel supporting Israel; Osama bin Laden and other Islamic believers fulfilled their religious duty to wage war on the government and citizens of the United States. Al Qaeda leaders chose to target the Twin Towers because they are the center of the financial district and are a symbol for our nation. The Pentagon was the main target because it is the headquarters of the US Department of Defense. The last target attempted by Al Qaeda was the White House; which is the residence of our nation's president and most beloved historic site. The lack of high monitored airport security is another major cause of the 9/11 attack. Security mainly consisted of X-ray machines, metal detectors and possible checks by airport security guards. Passengers could board planes with... middle of paper ...... and kill to avenge the emotional damage he had done to our country. The Pentagon is rebuilt and in place of the Twin Towers a memorial fountain is built with all the names of the victims engraved along the edges.
