if they wanted to find Winston they always knew where he would be. This is something that is like never before in our society. People like to think that our government is constantly watching us, through traffic cameras, our phone cameras, and satellites. This is simply not true, and people in our society prove it wrong time and time again. Whitey Bulger, the previous leader of South Boston's Winter Hills Gang, has been on the run for sixteen years, twelve of which he was on the FBI's most wanted list. If the government of our society could find us at any time, they would have found him long before sixteen and made fun of the FBI. Bulger was a murderous criminal and received two life sentences in prison when he was caught. If this had been the world of Big Brother 1984 they would have vaporized him before he stole his first pack of Gas cigarettes
