Nursing is the balance of art and science. Care is an important aspect that patients expect, but it also represents knowledge in current practices. Integrating current practices into care improves the quality of outcomes. Evidence-based practice is the best approach in planning patient care, it is the basis for the proven, real-world outcomes we expect. Personal experience and opinions are great assets but are not valid ideals for providing safe and effective care. Evidence-based practice uses clinical judgment with selective research to provide the most effective and cost-effective outcomes (Wilkinson et al., 2014). Standards are maintained at the highest levels of quality, helping to reduce or eliminate errors. Standardizing health care according to science and evidence-based practice helps reduce variations between settings (Stevens, 2013). All healthcare providers must adopt this practice for it to be successful. With greater participation, the quality of care increases, the patient is at the center
