When it comes to communication there are many underlying things that influence communication beyond what is said, these things are non-verbal and non-written communication. These things are what the mind sees or hears, and you don't necessarily have to recognize these subtle changes. Whether it's the things you see, the subtle change in facial expression, the squinting and turning of your head while something is said, or the raising of your voice at the end of a sentence. Many of these things can change the entire meaning of what is said in a positive or negative way. Another important part of communication that doesn't have to do with how something is said but is simply listening.
