Stress not only causes physiological problems, but also psychological ones. How does our body react when stress hits? This will be “hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal”, called ATP, the system that regulates stress. When faced with stressors, our mouth becomes dry, as it conserves fluids because our HPA axis senses danger. It is used to escape predators or fight with beasts. But this system is not designed for today's diverse stressors because in the modern world most people have to worry about mortgages, relationships and promotions more than fighting for food.
