Topic > Terrorism, I am Muslim and I am against it - 1453

“Certainly, those who believe, those who are Jews, Christians and converts; whoever (1) believes in GOD and (2) believes in the Last Day and (3) leads a righteous life will receive his reward from his Lord. They have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve.” This is Islam's way of instilling in Muslims not to judge others, because obviously it is the Lord who does so. Despite this verse and many other verses in the Quran that promote peace and love among human beings, people continue to combine Islam with terror. I have seen many false accusations about Islam in the media. All of this made me wonder, did I get my religion wrong? What really interests me is every time I search for the word terror on the Internet; I find verses from the Koran and images of Islamic and Arabic figures. Nowadays whenever a Muslim does something illegal, Islam is put on trial. Purpose and Questions Since September 11, 2001, Muslims have been discriminated against and treated as terrorists around the world. Unfortunately the media has promoted this distortion of Islamic values by spreading false perceptions about the religion, as well as false stereotypes about all Muslims as people. However, most terrorist attacks occur in Islamic countries, targeting Muslims themselves. These conflicting facts motivated me to do comprehensive research on this topic. To achieve this goal, I should start answering the following questions: • What is terrorism? • What is Islamic Jihad? Method I will present facts about terrorism, also I want to find out facts about a known terrorist organization; Al-Qaeda. On the other hand I will search for the true meaning of Islam as a religion to define the meaning of Jihad. At the end I will write... in the middle of the paper... he said: “To kill an innocent man or woman is to kill all humanity; saving a human being is saving all humanity." The word humanity does not mean only Muslims but all human beings. I can find no reason to explain any terrorist attacks, especially those that use God's name as a weapon. I am Muslim and was forced to leave my home country, Iraq, due to terrorist acts that disrupted our lives. We have all lived terrifying lives, filled with violence brought upon us by Al-Qaeda. Instead I turned to Sweden, a Christian country that gave me security, a country for which I will always be grateful. In summary, I believe that Islam had declared war on violence 1400 years ago by esteeming peace, placing instructions for war between people and, above all, to guarantee everyone's right to live a dignified life.
