The African diaspora has been defined as communities around the world that descend from historical movements of people from Africa predominantly to the Americas, Europe, and other areas of the world . The process of explaining the effects of diaspora on the slave trade has become similar. The slave trade as defined is the business or process of procuring the transportation and sale of slaves, especially black Africans, to the New World before the mid-19th century. These two elements are quite similar but very different. In explaining how one influenced the other, I will first go into detail about the African diaspora and the slave trade, then explain how one influenced the other. The African diaspora was known as the dispersion of Africans to countries other than their native country. They were taken from Africa and placed in areas such as the Caribbean, North America and even Europe.
