In both observations Trent has mental problems, however, the hypothesis that he attempted suicide seems more likely. Throughout the story Trent is angry, however, he is more sad and hurt. I think Trent snapped, however, he did so in such a way that in his pain and grief blinded him to looking for the only way out he could find, and that was
