My topic emerges during the Civil War. The Civil War was a battle between people who thought slavery was wrong and that black people should be free and treated equally. The other side thought that black people should have no rights and should be treated unfairly because of their race and color. Mostly the Northern states were the states that believed there should not be slavery, while the Southern states thought there should be slavery so their farming would be easier. The states that served for slavery were known as the Confederate states which named the Confederate Army. The anti-slavery states were known as the Union states who named the Union Army. My subject is the president of the Confederate Army, he is very well known and I found it interesting to learn about him. Jefferson Davis is known and recognized as the President of the Confederacy ("Jefferson Davis." Americana International Edition The Encyclopedia). I found Jefferson Davis very interesting. I had heard of him before but wasn't entirely sure who he was. He is very popular and best known for his occupation in the Civil War. In his early life Jefferson Davis was born into a religious family along with ten other children. He was the baby of the family. His parents' names were Samuel and Jane Cook Davis. ("Jefferson Davis." Americana International Edition, The Encyclopedia) Jefferson's birth date is June 3, 1808. He was born in Christian County, Kentucky. His full name is Jefferson Finis Davis. Jefferson grew up believing that God had certain classifications of white people and people of color. Jefferson grew up in a military home because his father and uncles were soldiers in the American War. His grandfather was a civil servant in the southern colonies of the United States... middle of the paper... he was a really interesting person to know. I had heard about him before but I didn't know much about him. I knew the basic details, but now I know his entire life and how things added up for him. If I would recommend anyone to find out about it, it would be Jefferson Davis.Works Cited"Jefferson Davis Biography - Facts, Birthday, Life Story - Biography.com." ORGANIC.
