The term "big business" attracts a wild frenzy of bad connotation that leads us to believe that leaders in business are innately a bunch of bad, greedy, black-clad old men. The corporate world is cutthroat, and if you want to survive, you'll spend your days walking on thin ice, because any mistake you make can affect everyone below you. The business analyzed in this paper will be Regal Entertainment Group. The exploration of stakeholder models and internal and external factors will be discussed throughout this article. Primarily, being one of the largest movie theater chains in the United States, Regal Entertainment operated 6,768 movie screens in five hundred and forty-eight theaters in thirty years. nine states and the District of Columbia. It had over 244 million attendees and has theaters in all 30 designated major market areas in the United States. Regal Cinemas was founded in 1989 in Knoxville, Tennessee, with Mike Campbell as CEO. Regal then began to grow rapidly, opening larger theaters in suburban areas. Regal Cinemas undertook aggressive expansion over the decade, gobbling up smaller chains and building new, more modern multiplexes. Its largest acquisition during this original period was the 1998 combination with Act III Cinemas, although it had also acquired some smaller chains in the mid-1990s, including the original Cobb Theatres, RC Theaters and National Theater Corp. with based in Cleveland. In 2001, Regal was overextended like many other movie theater chains and went into Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Chapter 11 bankruptcies are available to every business, although they are mostly used by corporate entities and allow for reorganization.
