The Tragedy of Macbeth is a famous play by William Shakespeare known for its violence. The story begins with that of a loyal and significant hero of Scotland. However, Macbeth's character continually changes throughout the play. Influential desires for power led him to choose evil choices that created for him only cynicism, guilt and fury. By the end of the opera he was no longer noteworthy and instead became a tyrant, which is why he was finally overpowered during the course of the opera. To begin with, Macbeth could have responded differently to the witches' prophecies. Macbeth together with Banquo met the witches in which they then proclaimed to him:First Witch: Greetings to all, Macbeth! Hail to you, Lord of Glamis! Second Witch: Hail to you, Macbeth!
