In our generation and the next, if we need parents, role models to take care of us, to show us the way to live. People let the streets teach them, rather than the classroom. If we can get people to care about young people, we will make the world a better place. The examples I see every day in the news are teenagers, thirteen, fourteen years old, walking around with guns and knives, killing other people for no good reason. If we teach them about gun violence, we can reduce crime in bad neighborhoods. In the article “The Downfall of the Black American Community,” Kuuleme T. Stephens said, “if Black Americans do not stop living in the past and blaming others for their problems, we will never move forward as a people.” . This is exactly what the little poet was talking about, leaving the past behind and not recreating it. Most of the black community is enslaving themselves, due to lack of initiative and stop blaming people. Being black is not an excuse for not succeeding, instead being yourself, making your own path, can lead to infinity
