(Base) From the worship of gods to the worship of nature, cults are another way to force people to act in ways they wouldn't have originally done. The cult of thinness worships the ideal body. Women must be a size zero; men must act dominantly. The society gives its members regulations for "normals", and its members must follow those regulations. (Bal. Comp.) Members of society who do not conform to the expectations set by society are given labels such as "strange" and "abnormal". From an early age, children learn what society deems “normal” thinness to be. As they become adults, society expects a “normal” weight. The cult of thinness claims that weight norms must be followed, and the rebels demand rejection. People feel inclined to integrate into the cult because it judges them based on appearances rather than their personality and morals.
