Windows System RecoverySummary:Windows System Recovery is a function of Microsoft Windows that allows the user to recover some lost data or restore the state of your computer (including files, music, videos, applications, Windows registry, etc.). This feature allows the user to restore the state of their computer to a safe point using the BACKUP file, through which Windows deletes all files or data created or received after the backup point and recovers all data removed subsequently.Introduction: BACKUPS: Most people don't think that backing up their files is worth the time and effort until one fine day their drive abruptly dies, at which time a large portion of them experience a deathbed conversion. Organizations, however, (typically) understand the value of their data well and for the most part perform a backup once a day, usually to tape. Current tapes contain tens or sometimes even many gigabytes and cost a few cents per gigabyte. Tape backups are typically made to handle one of two potential problems:1. Recover from disaster.2. Recover from stupidity. The first involves getting your computer back up and running after a disk failure, fire, flood, or other natural disaster. In practice, these things don't happen very often, which is why many people don't bother with backups. The second reason is that users often accidentally remove files that they will later need again. This problem occurs so often that when a file is "removed" in Windows, it is not deleted at all, but simply moved to a special directory, the Recycle Bin, so that it can be fished out and easily restored later. Backups carry this principle forward and allow you to restore files removed days, even weeks ago, from the old backup... middle of paper... a recovery partition, the user can insert the disk into the computer and restart it to get started . Once started, the user can simply follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall Windows. CONCLUSION AND FUTURE WORK: After reading this report, anyone can conclude that Windows System Recovery is very efficient and useful tool provided by Microsoft Windows. It can fix many problems occurring in the operating system and other bugs. Despite its usefulness and efficiency we can see that it is not the ultimate tool i.e. it is not perfect, there may be problems with this tool as explained in the problem statement above. In the future the recovery system can be modified to work even better than ever, bugs can be removed etc. Microsoft is currently working to improve this tool but has not yet launched any updates or news on the Recovery System.
