World Cup 2022 Investigation Qatar's successful bid to host the world's biggest sporting event in 2022 has been met with much criticism. For example, a Norwegian newspaper labeled the decision as one of the biggest hoaxes in football history, with some commentators expressing their view that Qatar literally stole the world cup. This criticism has attracted the interest of many people to check whether the entire exercise was conducted in the most transparent manner and whether the decision taken was the best among the available options. As a result of this interest and curiosity, The Daily Telegraph reported that there are traces of some information which raises the possibility that some irregularities may have occurred in the selection exercise. Emails and documents relating to corruption were discovered and an investigation was launched by the FIFA Ethics Committee and the FBI to investigate the allegations. According to the Daily Telegraph report, it turns out that Jack Warner, who was not only one of the most experienced people in the FIFA administration, but also the most influential in the selection committee that declared Qatar as the host of the 2022 World Cup, was involved in acts of corruption. The report reveals that Warner was personally paid, through his Jamad Company, approximately $1.2 million by the Kemco Company, associated with Qatari official Bin Hammam, a Qatari citizen and former executive member of the FIFA committee. The report also reveals some documents showing that Warner's children also received a payment of $750,000 from the same company and that its employees also received $400,000 in the same transactions. There are a number of documents including one which states that payment is for... half of the document... limitations surround the 2022 selection offer process. Without any doubt one can conclude that the process has been flawed and that FIFA's due process for carrying out the exercise was seriously violated. In the football industry, the World Cup is a major event that brings together people from all parts of the world. Therefore, it is urgent to ensure that every decision made in this regard has been made for the common good of all and not for that of a few individuals. The cases of corruption reported and ascertained by the various investigations demonstrate that perhaps Qatar did not win the tender in a transparent manner and therefore this tender must be revoked. The revocation of this candidacy will continue to strengthen FIFA's credibility as the governing body of world football and perhaps prevent these types of acts in the future. Furthermore, there is enough time to submit a new offer.
