Being a pediatrician is more than just a profession, some may consider it a dream job. Loving, laughing and caring for a child with an illness at the same time would mean the world, no matter how much education and training one has to endure. Although the hours can become hectic and many nights can become sleepless, the feeling at the end of each day can be one of satisfaction and accomplishment, that a child can make it through another day or be pain-free for another night, all because a pediatrician. There is nothing else in the world that one would consider themselves to be if their love for children is strong enough and their drive is deep enough to help save the life of an innocent. Pediatric medicine focuses on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of childhood illnesses and diseases. Although the first major study of childhood diseases derived from Europe dates back to the 12th century, it was discovered only later, leading many people to believe that pediatricians originated in Paris, France, in June 1802. After the creation of the subcategory of doctors, an “Enfants Malades” (Hospital for Sick Children) hospital was built to accommodate the rise of the evolution of new doctors. After completing high school, the real challenge begins. To obtain a degree in pediatrics, you must endure five to six years of college and seven to 10 years of paid residency. You will need to train in general practice during most undergraduate and graduate studies. During residency he began specializing in pediatric medicine. Undergraduate programs in pre-medicine are usually offered concurrently with another major, such as chemistry, biology, mathematics, etc. Pre-medicine... middle of paper... the world would most likely cease to exist, because the population would decline due to children dying from diseases that could be cured if only someone specialized in them.
