Topic > Reflection on the film Winnie Mandela - 1304

The classroom is an open field where there are no tables or desks, but the children are learning, for example Winnie reciting Shakespeare's Sonnet was intriguing and engaging. I was assuming that the environment was not conducive to children's learning. Teaching in the middle of an open field seemed like more of a distraction to me than grazing cattle at a distance. This strengthened my cultural awareness that assumptions are wrong and that the vulnerable population will use available resources and the lack of classrooms has not stopped children's education and training.
