Keller High School Principal Jeff Bradley says, "'We want to take every precaution to keep drugs out'" (England par 5). Bradley sent letters to parents of Keller students informing them of the drug searches. Dogs will search student lockers, car parks and classrooms (England par. 6-8). In another article, Mark Walsh addresses the impact drug dogs have had on schools. He recounts how, under Florida's Fourth Amendment agreement, police officers would be free to pass by a car or a student, for example, and instruct the dog to begin searching (Walsh 21). Walsh talks about how other cases involving dogs will affect schools because if a dog is allowed to approach and smell anyone walking by right now the police will carry out constant searches without a warrant. This would represent a blatant disregard for the Unjustified Search and Seizure Amendment (21-2). If this were to continue, the dogs could eventually maintain a stable presence in schools, and this would have a significant impact on schools because the police would not be forced to leave. Police already have a high presence and drug-sniffing dogs would significantly increase police authority
